How real-time translation changes Nordic CX delivery

Real-time translation can change where and how Nordic service is delivered. It works only when the operation behind it is ready.

The old constraint

Nordic customer operations have traditionally been designed around language availability. Each market needs native capability, or the business accepts a compromise in coverage, cost or speed.

That makes language a structural constraint on the footprint.

What translation actually changes

Real-time translation does more than help one agent understand another language. It expands the viable talent pool and allows leaders to reconsider which work must remain market-specific and which work can be consolidated.

That creates flexibility, but it does not remove the need for cultural context, product knowledge or judgement. The right question is not whether translation works. It is which interactions can move without weakening the experience.

The Samsung lesson

In the Samsung Nordics model, AI-enabled translation worked because the surrounding operation was ready for it. Knowledge, workflow, governance and quality control made the technology usable in live delivery.

The model made the footprint more flexible, contributed to a 15-point NPS improvement, supported lower delivery cost and earned an ECCCSA Silver.

The result did not come from inserting a translation tool. It came from redesigning the operating model around a capability that had become possible.

Keep interaction value in the design

A translated interaction can be operationally efficient and still be the wrong design for a high-value moment requiring negotiation, retention work or deep local judgement.

Map interaction value first. Then use translation where it expands capability without removing what the customer actually values.

What to do differently

  • Treat language technology as an operating-model decision.
  • Test readiness across knowledge, workflow, governance and quality.
  • Keep high-value interactions visible when redesigning the footprint.
